FIRESTONE, Colo. — The Central Weld County Water District says the Town of Firestone owes more than $200,000 in unpaid water bills, raising concerns among residents and business owners about the possibility of a water shutoff. Stan Linker, manager of the Central Weld County Water District, told 9NEWS that Firestone's account is more than three months past due. “It’s a very difficult situation,” Linker said. According to the district, Firestone has an outstanding balance of $211,376.68.

LOVELAND, Colo. — Thompson Valley EMS has partnered with the national nonprofit KultureCity to add sensory kits to the ambulances in its fleet. The initiative aims to reduce stress for individuals with sensory processing needs, including those who are neurodivergent or living with invisible disabilities. Thompson Valley EMS, which serves Loveland, Berthoud and the surrounding areas, is one of the first EMS agencies in Colorado to implement such a sensory inclusion program.

FORT COLLINS, Colo. — Fisher Bennett, a 21-year-old wildland firefighter and son of a longtime Poudre Fire Authority firefighter, is in the hospital after a crash that left him submerged in a northeast Fort Collins irrigation canal for an estimated 20 minutes. The crash happened on May 29. Emergency crews were dispatched at 5:09 p.m. to 134-398 Orilla Del Lago after reports of a vehicle upside down in a slow-moving irrigation ditch.

COLORADO, USA — Local leaders across Colorado are pushing back after the Trump administration published a list labeling dozens of cities and counties as “sanctuary jurisdictions." The list, released earlier this week by the Department of Homeland Security, included 41 counties and 15 cities in Colorado. Among them were communities where leaders have publicly supported President Trump’s immigration policies.

MEAD, Colo. — Both lanes of Interstate 25 near Mead are back open after a crash involving two semitrucks shut down the interstate for nearly 12 hours on Wednesday. According to the Colorado State Patrol, the crash occurred just after 3 a.m. on I-25, approximately 35 miles north of Denver. It was near the overpass for Weld County Road 38. One of the trucks, a freightliner carrying office supplies, collided with the jersey barriers and eventually struck another semi hauling gasoline.
