    ROCK SPRINGS – After dealing with the future of the Rock Springs Civic Center May 20, The Rock Springs City Council is looking towards a potentially quieter meeting Tuesday evening. The Council will consider approving a request from the Southwest Wyoming Regional Airport to transfer $1.3 million in entitlements to Sheridan County Airport for eligible projects.

    America runs on caffeine. According to National Coffee Association statistics compiled in 2022, 66% of all Americans drink coffee. Of course, the NCA is a trade organization created to promote coffee and that statistic is more than likely part of a marketing ploy to ensure coffee remains a popular drink. However, if you think about the number of coffee shops and drive-up kiosks focusing on coffee in Rock Springs and Green River alone, that figure doesn’t seem far-fetched.

    GREEN RIVER – a kaleidoscope of colorful fabrics and artistic quilts are on display at Expedition Island. The 34th Quilting on the Green quilting exhibition has 85 quilts on display at the Expedition Island Pavillion. More than 100 people have also signed up for quilting classes being taught at Western Wyoming Community College during the show.

    ROCK SPRINGS – Children in Sweetwater County School District No. 1 are eligible for free meals during the summer. The school district will provide free meals to children from June 2 to Aug. 1 in Rock Springs and from June 4 to July 30 in Wamsutter and Farson. There are no income requirements and all children 18 years old and younger are welcome to have breakfast and lunch. Some locations require students to eat on site, while others allow children to pick up meals.

    ROCK SPRINGS – A standoff involving law enforcement south of Rock Springs ended without incident Tuesday afternoon. According to Arron Healy, the Wyoming Highway Patrol District 3 public information officer, a vehicle chase started at 12:41 p.m. Tuesday, on Wyoming Highway 430. The driver of the vehicle, whom Healy was unable to identify, was allegedly in a stolen vehicle and when law enforcement attempted to initiate a stop, the driver allegedly attempted to flee by driving south on the highway.
