    A PROPOSED study by the University of Adelaide will investigate if mixing a variety of compounds, including biserrula, into cow feed containing seaweed, can reduce the amount of methane produced by livestock. Biserrula is a persistent pasture legume grown in Mediterranean farming systems, while other compounds include by-products, grains and unsaturated fatty acids. The study will also breath test livestock to record methane levels using a low-cost device, making it more accessible for farmers.

    A former Green River High School (GRHS) graduate Harry “TJ” Bobak has been accepted into the University of Mississippi Medical Center’s Magnolia Clinical Scholars Training Program, which starts this fall. Bobak is a 2010 Green River High School Graduate and a 2017 University of Wyoming graduate with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology. He is currently pursuing his PhD in school psychology with two years left at Mississippi State University.

    A Rock Springs doctor is making a difference in people’s lives when he travels to Belize to provide free eye care. Longtime Ophthalmologists Dr. Peter Jensen of Rock Springs and Dr. Robert Peets of Dayton, Ohio, have been going to Belize to participate in the Belize Eye Mission through Physicians Mission LLC as often as they can since 2008. Prior to that, Dr. Peets went on the mission in 2006 and 2007 with another doctor.
