LOCHBUIE, Colo — A landspout tornado was spotted near Lochbuie and north of the Denver airport Friday evening, according to the National Weather Service. There are no reports of damage from the tornado, which touched down a little after 4 p.m., but it did disrupt flights at the airport for a short time. Landspouts form differently from supercell tornadoes, and they are typically smaller, weaker, and don't last as long.

EDGEWATER, Colo. — A water line break caused a traffic headache near Edgewater Friday evening. The Town of Mountain View said there's a large "potential" sinkhole on Sheridan Boulevard near West 17th Avenue. The broken water line led to flooding that has made the asphalt in that area unstable, according to the Edgewater Police Department. Sheridan Boulevard is closed in both directions between West 17th and West 20th avenues. The break happened around 4:30 p.m. Friday.

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. — Santa Fe Drive, or US 85, will be closed over C-470 this weekend for a paving project. The highway will be closed between Blakeland Drive and County Line Road from 8 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. on Monday. The closure includes the C-470 on and off ramps. This is so crews can complete paving on the new bridge over C-470. Douglas County is asking drivers to avoid the area this weekend, if possible.
