Infrastructure across the U.S. is not quite making the grade.The 2025 Report Card for America's Infrastructure came in at a "C." The report noted that nationwide, no categories were rated as a "D-" for the first time since 1998.On the state level, Alabama's most recent report card is from 2022. The state received a "C-" overall. A "C" is described as "mediocre, requires attention."Alabama's best grades were a "B" for energy, ports and rail. The worst were "Ds" for inland waterways and wastewater.

The Birmingham Barons are partnering with sports legend Bo Jackson for the 2025 season's menu.Concession options will include Bo's Hometown Burger, which is crafted with patties from Jackson's Bo's Burgers line.The Barons say each Bo's Hometown Burger comes with an exclusive Birmingham Barons Bo Jackson souvenir baseball card.Jackson plans to return to Birmingham on July 25 to celebrate the burger and throw out the first pitch at the Barons' game that day at Regions Field.

Birmingham police investigating a homicide at a motel in Birmingham's East Lake neighborhood.Police were called to the Anchor Motel along First Avenue North about 9:30 a.m. Monday. They found an adult male shot and unresponsive. A witness attempted lifesaving measures before the man was taken to UAB hospital and pronounced dead.Police say evidence suggests the victim had some kind of fight with an unknown suspect. This was not the first act of violence at the Anchor Motel.
