This follows Tuesday night’s weather event, that caused a storm drainage pipe to burst, shut down roads, a nearby church, and a motel. Just this week a major storm water pipe burst causing a sidewalk and entry way near St. John the Evangelist Church here on Vine Street to cave in. Several streets are shutdown. It’s been a busy week for crews in Honesdale.

    HONESDALE, WAYNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Crews in the borough of Honesdale are still cleaning up after Tuesday night’s storm. Flooding closed several roads and did some major damage near a local church. Vine Street looks a lot different than it did during Tuesday night’s storm. The pedestrian bridge that connects to 5th street downtown is closed while crews assess the structural integrity and the sidewalk next to St. John the Evangelist Church has caved in, and water is flowing.

    WILLIAMSPORT, LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The weather is the reason crews have called off their search on Tuesday for a 10-year-old girl in Lycoming County who was swept away while playing in the Susquehanna River on Sunday. Since then, Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) and other departments have been assisting in the ongoing search to bring her home. The search was called off around 3:00 p.m. due to the weather. There is still no sign of the 10-year-old girl.

Officials from across the area have been tirelessly searching the waters in the area near South Williamsport since Sunday. The search has ended for the day on Monday. There is still no sign of the missing 10-year-old girl. Crews could be seen in South Williamsport near the Hepburn Dam, where a 10-year-old was reported missing.

A boat is in the water on Monday morning, searching for the girl who was lost by the old Hebden Dam after family members say she was playing in the water and was swept away. Crews say they are focusing on the water near the shoreline. South Williamsport PD and fire crews are on the scene.
