WILKES-BARRE — Parking restrictions will be in place on certain city streets this week so they can be cleaned, Mayor George C. Brown’s Office has announced. “No Parking” signs, with the street sweeping day indicated, will be posted during street cleaning in each neighborhood. Vehicles will be ticketed if not moved. Restrictions apply to the right side of the following streets on Thursday and to the left side on Friday:Vine Street, from East Division Street to the end.

WILKES-BARRE — Quality-of-life and other code violations found at several Barney Street properties during an Oct. 10 neighborhood tour were remedied by the end of last week, and more inspections are planned. Wilkes-Barre City Council has a light agenda this week that includes the sale of tax claims and the reappointment of authority board members. The first item on Mayor George C. Brown's agenda is authorization for a three-year agreement to sell the city's real estate (property) tax claims to the city finance authority. Tax claims are basically unpaid real estate taxes to which the City is entitled or has a claim.
