CARMI — Stella Elizabeth (Groves) Karns, 91, of Carmi, died Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at Wabash Senior Living in Carmi. She was born in Marshall Oct. 16, 1933, to James Groves and Eunice (Johnson) Groves. She married James Edward (Eddie) Karns March 1, 1953. She spent most of her life in the Carmi area, working at Carmi Ainsbrook Factory, Carmi Queens Grill and Ball-Matsel Drugs.

MOUNT CARMEL — Beverly K. Rayborn, 67, of Mount Carmel, died Saturday, June 21, 2025 at home. She was born Nov. 16, 1957 in Carmi, the daughter of Charles Wesley and Charlene (Rush) James. She married Benton Allen Rayborn in 1985. Surviving are her husband; daughter, Lindsay Haynes; seven grandchildren; siblings Donnie James, Kathy Holloman, Cerissa Waddington, and Charlotte McGarrh. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Bobby Gale Rayborn; a grandson; and sister, Jacqueline James.
