A man was taken into custody after he allegedly pulled out an AR-15 style rifle and waved it at apartments units during a mental health call, according to the Cibolo Police Department. Officers responded to the call around 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the Grand at Cibolo apartments in the 200 block of Grand Avenue.

SAN ANTONIO – A San Antonio police officer shot and killed a man who allegedly pulled out a machete at the officer on the West Side, according to SAPD Chief William McManus. Officers were initially responding to an assault in progress call, McManus said during a Sunday media conference. The shooting happened just before 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the 6500 block of Tahoka Boulevard near Old Highway 90 West. SAPD said the 27-year-old man was allegedly assaulting his significant other.

FREDERICKSBURG, Texas – UPDATE: 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 18 Although the Crabapple Fire is 90% contained, the blaze has burned an estimated 9,858 acres, according to the Texas A&M Forest Service. The current affected area stretches from Lower Crabapple Road to Farm-to-Market Road 1631. Crews battling the fire will have to deal with windy conditions on Tuesday, with even more high winds expected on Wednesday.

FREDERICKSBURG, Texas – Updated at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. The Crabapple Fire in Gillespie County has burned 9,500 acres and is 40% contained, according to the City of Fredericksburg and Texas A&M Forest Service. Multiple fire departments and crews from across the region, state and nation started battling the large fire at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday in the 8700 block of Lower Crabapple Road, north of Fredericksburg. The size of the area grew by nearly 1,000 acres on Sunday.
