    FAIRHOPE, Ala. (WPMI) — The Bay Watch boat ramp near the U.S. Highway 98 bridge at the mouth of Fish River will shut down this summer so the gravel and dirt parking lot can be paved. It is scheduled to be closed from May 5th through early August. Boaters aren't happy about the timing. Bradley Davis uses the ramp sometimes seven times a day to launch boats from his nearby dealership.

    GULF SHORES, Ala. (WPMI) — Baldwin County beach tourism is getting a boost between the busy spring break and summer seasons. Gulf Shores is once again hosting the NCAA beach volleyball championship. The tournament gets underway on Friday. There are 16 NCAA Division 1 teams competing for the top spot. It was set to be played in Huntington Beach, California this year and next year, but the event returned to Alabama due to devastating wildfires. It will be played in Gulf Shores through 2031.

    Two young men are in critical condition after they were shot in a minivan parked at a Daphne apartment complex. Daphne Police identified the victims as 18-year-old Matthew Barnes and 20-year-old Demond Walker. Police say Walker lived at 10x Audubon Park on County Road 64 where the shooting happened Tuesday night around 7:40. "They'd both been shot in the head and in the neck, and they were unconscious," Captain Reginald Ardis.
