Mobile County District Attorney Keith Blackwood announced Tuesday that Capital Murder charges have been filed against Marcus Sanders in the investigation of a shooting that injured one and killed on at the Saenger Theater Sunday. Blackwood stated that murder in the presence of the victim’s child under 14 makes the upgraded charges possible. No decision on whether the death penalty will be sought has been made at this point, Blackwood said.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. (WPMI) — The Jefferson County Coroner's Office has confirmed that Anthony Trotter has died in the William Donaldson Prison infirmary after being found unresponsive. Trotter was pronounced dead at 1:23 on Monday, and according to the JCCO, an autopsy will be performed though no evidence of foul play or trauma was found. Anthony Trotter was convicted in 2009 for the stabbing death of 31-year-old Raymond DeAngelo Cochran on Delaware Street in Mobile.

(WPMI) — Through a series of change orders to the original contract with Sabre Demolition for the removal of the Civic Center complex, the initial contract price of $4.36 million has now increased to $6.25 million. Despite the increase, city officials say the demolition portion of the project is still under the $8 million budget, with only the demolition of Expo Hall remaining.
