    Mobile County District Attorney Keith Blackwood announced Tuesday that Capital Murder charges have been filed against Marcus Sanders in the investigation of a shooting that injured one and killed on at the Saenger Theater Sunday. Blackwood stated that murder in the presence of the victim’s child under 14 makes the upgraded charges possible. No decision on whether the death penalty will be sought has been made at this point, Blackwood said.

    JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. (WPMI) — The Jefferson County Coroner's Office has confirmed that Anthony Trotter has died in the William Donaldson Prison infirmary after being found unresponsive. Trotter was pronounced dead at 1:23 on Monday, and according to the JCCO, an autopsy will be performed though no evidence of foul play or trauma was found. Anthony Trotter was convicted in 2009 for the stabbing death of 31-year-old Raymond DeAngelo Cochran on Delaware Street in Mobile.

    “The State failed us.”Mobile City Council President CJ Small placed the blame for the shooting at the Saenger Theatre on Sunday that killed one man during a children’s dance recital, squarely at the feet of the State. “The State took away gun permits. When they took away the gun permits, and required no gun permits, everybody’s feeling comfortable with carrying a gun,” Small said.
