The Sacramento Fire Department is grappling with staffing shortages that have left the department short as many as 23 firefighters daily. A teenager is recovering after being shot in the leg near an apartment complex in the Arden-Arcade area, where investigators believe 30 to 40 rounds were fired Sunday afternoon. The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office reported that the 17-year-old was shot at the apartment complex on Ethan Way. "We believe that he might have been the intended target of this shooting, but he is expected to survive. So that is good news," said Ambar Vicente Rivas with the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office.
