MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A lingering cold front will provide the chance of a passing shower today, but temperatures will remain warm to kick off the new week. TODAYThe slow moving cold front will slowly push offshore later today, keeping the risk of an isolated shower or storm in the forecast today. A few clouds with plenty of sunshine will warm temperatures up into the upper 70s along the Grand Strand with the lower 80s inland.

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Warm weather and humidity will continue through the weekend ahead of a cold front. That front will be responsible for increasing showers and storms by the end of the weekend. TODAYHigh pressure will remain in control of the forecast for Friday. Morning temperatures will start in the 60s and climb to near 80 at the beaches. As you move inland, temperatures in the upper 80s will become more common.

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - The latest update from the US Drought Monitor shows some improvements from last week’s rainfall. However, it still shows ‘Severe’ drought continuing across Horry and Georgetown Counties. Heavy rains (1.5 to locally 4 inches) were common in a band across the southern Appalachians, northern Georgia, and a broad portion of Alabama. Dryness and drought in these areas – mostly in northern Georgia – improved.

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - We’re kicking off the new month with warmer weather and increasing humidity before showers and storms return to the forecast this weekend. REST OF THE WEEKHigh pressure to our east will continue to send warm and increasing humidity into the Grand Strand and Pee Dee for both Thursday and Friday. Temperatures will climb to near 80 on the beaches and into the middle and upper 80s for the Pee Dee. Humidity will continue to slow increase with a slightly muggy feel developing.
