No. 14 Texas A&M football has had a successful first half of the 2024 season. Few scenarios could have played out better for the Maroon and White. The Aggies are in year one of a new coaching regime, lost their starting quarterback for multiple games and are 5-0 since losing their season opener on Aug. 31. Mississippi State’s first half of the season bears some similarities to the Aggies, but has taken a different turn.

October 14, 2024 After the annual Old Maroon exhibition match where A&M rugby’s past met its present, the Maroon side will return to regular-season play when they travel south to take on the Rice Owls in Houston on Saturday, Oct. 19. The Maroon and White season started with two disappointing losses and zero wins, falling to Sam Houston and Tennessee 28-26 and 46-17, respectively, before notching the first win of the season, a 56-5 blowout over Arkansas on Sept. 27.

Around 200 students ate, sang, danced and celebrated at OU’s Vietnamese Student Association’s annual Lunar Moon Festival on Saturday. Andrew Hoang, Vietnamese Student Association family chair, said the festival is the organization’s biggest and most popular event of the year. “The Lunar Moon Festival is our most popular event,” Hoang said. “We host it with all sorts of external schools. We offer cultural foods like sushi and pad Thai. We also display cultural dances, such as line dances.

The Nittany Lions moved up three spots in the rankings to No. 4 after beating UCLA 27-11, and after No. 1 Alabama and No. 4 Tennessee were upset by unranked opponents.

The Maroon and White’s offense, however, faces the best defense it’s seen since its opener against Notre Dame with No. 9 Missouri coming into town on Saturday.
