Texas A&M and coach Mike Elko added another weapon from the transfer portal by securing the commitment of North Carolina State sophomore transfer wide receiver Kevin “KC” Concepcion on Sunday, the player announced on social media via On3’s Hayes Fawcett. Concepcion will have two years of eligibility remaining and was the 15th-ranked player and sixth-ranked wide receiver in the portal, per 247Sports.

After a sputtering offensive start threatened to end Texas A&M women’s basketball’s chances, a dominant defensive performance in the second half proved decisive in a 57-45 win against Syracuse in its first game of the SEC/ACC Challenge at Reed Arena on Wednesday. Career-high 14-point performances from both sophomore LSU transfer guard Janae Kent and freshman G Taliyah Parker gave the Aggies’ offense just enough to pull A&M to a 5-4 record on the year. “We knew we needed this win,” Kent said.

No. 20 Texas A&M’s hopes at a trip to Atlanta for the SEC Championship were slashed in a 17-7 defeat to No. 3 Texas in the long-awaited return of the Lone Star Showdown. “Losing our last three conference games and not being able to close the deal and going to Atlanta,” coach Mike Elko said. “Yeah. Texas A&M redshirt junior guard Kyndall Hunter did all she could in the fourth quarter. In its opening game of its trip to Paradise Island, Bahamas for the Battle 4 Atlantis, A&M women’s basketball fell to Villanova, 65-57, in a game marred by scoring droughts for the Aggies. With 4:17 left in the game, Villanova was in the midst of a 12-2 run, putting it in a power position that it would not relinquish. At the same time, A&M went scoreless for over two minutes.
