Emergency services were called to Ballindean Road, Douglas, following reports of the incident late on Friday night. Locals report seeing several police cars and an ambulance in the area, near the junction with Balerno Street. Rail passengers in Fife faced major disruption after a train breakdown near North Queensferry. Several services were delayed or cancelled after a train broke down on the line between Inverkeithing and Edinburgh at 12.35pm on Saturday. There was a knock-on effect on ScotRail services between Dundee, Perth, Cowdenbeath, Leven and Edinburgh until 6pm.

Church officials have provided an update on a Dundee priest who was seriously injured in a crash. Father Malcolm Hutchison of SS Peter & Paul’s was involved in the collision on Byron Street, near the junction with Leng Street, at around 5.30pm last Friday. Firefighters had used cutting equipment to safely remove Father Hutchison after he became “medically trapped” in his vehicle. The 35-year-old was taken into intensive care following the crash.

An elderly Fife couple say they are “horrified” after having the word “peado” scrawled on their garden wall. Pensioners Derek and Janice Kirk, from Auchtertool, near Kirkcaldy, found the word spray-painted in large letters on their wall on Wednesday morning. The couple claim this is the latest in a series of vandalism incidents at their home. They believe they are being targeted after reporting an alleged theft in their area to police.
