Some 2,957 student-athletes competed in the Public Schools Athletic League Outdoor Track and Field Borough Championships, at Icahn Stadium on May 18th – and when it was over the Brooklyn titles belonged to Thomas Jefferson (boys) and Benjamin Banneker (girls). But really, Rashid Davis is Paul Robeson High School’s biggest cheerleader. “Congratulations to Thenica Thompson, Class of 2024,” Davis wrote in a memo to one and all. Thompson came in first in both the 200m (27:54) and the 400m (1:03.74) for Medgar Evers women’s outdoor track team in the City University of New York Athletic Conference Championships held at Ichan Stadium. Medgar Evers women won the 4×100 (49.54) and 4×400 (4:27.62) relays.
