Washington shot 334 on the day, just 26 strokes off meet champion Waverly-Shell Rock. Washington put three golfers in the Top-20. Carson Brown, Drew Conrad and Cole Vetter each shot an 82 for 18th.

WASHINGTON — Both Washington and Highland were at Washington Golf and Country Club for the Demons’ home girls invite on Monday. It was the Huskies that shined the brightest, finishing second place. Highland ended the day with a stroke total of 374, just 23 shots behind first-place Lisbon but a full 53 ahead of third-place Oskaloosa. Washington finished sixth, at 488.

WASHINGTON — A 1-0 loss to Highway 1 rival Fairfield last month was enough motivation to push the Washington girls soccer team on Monday, when the Demons hosted the Trojans in a Southeast Conference battle. The Demons flipped the script on the Trojans, winning 4-1 to even up the season series at one game apiece.

Pleasant girls soccer team had to battle for its latest Southeast Conference win, but the Panthers managed to stay hot in Keokuk on Monday night. Looking for their third win in a row, Mt. Pleasant grinded out a 2-1 win against the Chiefs, sweeping the regular season series in the process.

ELDON — A handful of area track teams were in Eldon on Thursday night, as Cardinal hosted the 2025 Bob Gerard Relays. Two area teams came away with team wins, as the Mt. Pleasant girls and Pekin boys were both victorious. On the girls’ side, Mt. Pleasant scored 197 points to win the meet by 74 over second-place Van Buren County. The Pekin boys beat out Mt. Pleasant by 13 points.
