DES MOINES — When it came to the sprints and hurdles at the 2025 Iowa High School State Track and Field Meet, there weren’t many teams as active as the New London and Columbus boys. The Tigers and Wildcats utilized Saturday’s running finals to jump into the Top-5 in Class 1A. Both teams scored 30 points to tie for fifth place.

DES MOINES — All three of the Union area’s big schools had competitors in the Class 3A girls competition at the 2025 Iowa High School State Track and Field Meet. It was Mt. Pleasant that fared the best, scoring seven total team points. The Panthers scored three of those points in the school’s final race.

DES MOINES — The Mid-Prairie girls track team has become synonymous with great distance running, but it was the sprinters who shined under the Drake Stadium lights this weekend. The Golden Hawk sprinters pushed the team to 33 points, placing them fifth in the final Class 2A standings.
