DES MOINES, Iowa — 54 holes is supposed to be enough golf to determine a winner on the PGA Champions Tour, but that wasn't the case at Wakonda Club where a three-man playoff determined the victor of the 2025 Principal Charity Classic. Miguel Angel Jiménez entered Sunday at -15, tied for the best first-36 holes in tournament history. But the tour's top-ranked player didn't have his A-game, he missed several big putts and finished with just three birdies on the day.

DES MOINES, Iowa — After an exciting two rounds of golf, we are one step closer to crowning this year's Principal Charity Classic champion. In the 11 years of the Principal Charity Classic at Wakonda Club, six of the winners were either tied for first or outright leading the group headed into Sunday. It goes without saying, it's important to be near the top headed into the final day of competition. PGA Champions Tour number one Miguel Angel Jiménez knows that and lived that.

DES MOINES, Iowa — The 2025 Principal Charity Classic kicked off at Wakonda Club in Des Moines on Friday, with 78 players participating in the opening round. We've talked a lot about the big names at Wakonda, from the major winners to the Golf Hall of Famers, but there are also golfers still trying to make a name for themselves in the sport. Iowa City native Jeff Schmid became one of three last-minute qualifiers and excelled on his first-ever round of the tournament.

DES MOINES, Iowa — A lot of great competitors make up this year's field in the Principal Charity Classic, including PGA champions and 2024 winner Ernie Els. In a field littered with World Golf Hall of Famers, there's no golfer here in Des Moines that's more accomplished than Els. "The Big Easy" returns to Wakonda Club as the 2024 defending champion. He proved last year how he won four major championships with the best score in PCC history with a total of 21 under par.

AMES, Iowa — No matter how the regular season ends, Iowa State softball will finish above .500 in conference play for the first time since 1991. Freshman utility player Jessie Clemons has started all 60 games for the Cyclones and leads the team in batting average and RBIs.  "You find whatever ways you can to win," Clemons said. "Whether that's (me) putting in the work outside of school, outside of class, outside of practice." Clemons won a lot in high school.
