SCRANTON, Pa. — There is traditionally a flurry of people hitting the polls right at opening time, casting their ballots before work or other daytime tasks, but not today. Election workers outnumbered voters. Brian Donahue was here voting at a school in the South Side, disappointed he was one of the few. "It's a shame. It's a shame more people don't get out. Everybody likes to complain, but nobody wants to take the time to come down and vote for who you want, vote for change," Said Donahue.

ALLENTOWN, Pa. — About 3,000 people work at the Mack Truck assembly plant in Lower Macungie Township, near Allentown. Now, about ten percent of them have been told they are losing their jobs. A spokesman for Mack outlined the reason a reduction in orders, changing economic conditions, and the potential impact of tariffs. The head of the union told ABC News that Mack increased prices twice recently, and that caused some companies to cancel their buys.

HARRISBURG, Pa. — The man accused of setting fire to the Pennsylvania Governor's Residence early Sunday morning is in the hospital due to a medical event, according to state police. Cody Balmer, 38, of Harrisburg, faces several charges, including attempted homicide, arson, terrorism, and aggravated assault. According to the arrest papers filed by police, Balmer hated Governor Josh Shapiro.

"I wanted to make sure my voice is heard. I think it's very important. This election is very important, and I wanted to be the first one here." We didn't ask people about their preferences, but it's clear some prefer Trump. Others are in the Harris camp.

SCRANTON, Pa. — Former Scranton Mayor Jimmy Connors died Wednesday morning, according to the mayor's office. Connors was mayor of the Electric City from 1990-2002. James Patrick Connors compiled a long public service record before he became Scranton's 28th mayor in 1990. On the Connors resume—jobs as a teacher, police dispatcher, and community development director in the administration of Scranton Mayor David Wenzel. When Wenzel decided one term in City Hall was enough, Connors made his move.
