HARRISBURG, Pa. — The man accused of setting fire to the Pennsylvania Governor's Residence early Sunday morning is in the hospital due to a medical event, according to state police. Cody Balmer, 38, of Harrisburg, faces several charges, including attempted homicide, arson, terrorism, and aggravated assault. According to the arrest papers filed by police, Balmer hated Governor Josh Shapiro.

"I wanted to make sure my voice is heard. I think it's very important. This election is very important, and I wanted to be the first one here." We didn't ask people about their preferences, but it's clear some prefer Trump. Others are in the Harris camp.

SCRANTON, Pa. — Former Scranton Mayor Jimmy Connors died Wednesday morning, according to the mayor's office. Connors was mayor of the Electric City from 1990-2002. James Patrick Connors compiled a long public service record before he became Scranton's 28th mayor in 1990. On the Connors resume—jobs as a teacher, police dispatcher, and community development director in the administration of Scranton Mayor David Wenzel. When Wenzel decided one term in City Hall was enough, Connors made his move.

RailRiders' PNC Field in Moosic slated for renovations

MOOSIC, Pa. — The home of the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders will have a different look when the first pitch is thrown in the 2025 season. A renovation plan for PNC Field in Moosic was announced Tuesday morning. PNC Field has to be improved to meet the standards for minor league facilities set by major league baseball. More than $13 million in renovations is planned, including better training facilities, batting tunnels, and places to work out.

HAZLETON, Pa. — People in Hazleton woke up to a snowy scene at Broad and Church Streets in the middle of downtown. Snow clogged roads, drivers slid, and some got stuck. MOUNT CARMEL, Pa. — It was a rocky road to Kansas City's latest Super Bowl win. For the second time in Super Bowl history, the game wasn't decided in the regulation 60 minutes. The San Francisco 49ers scored first in overtime with this field goal to go up 22 -19. The Kansas City Chiefs got the ball back, and quarterback Patrick Mahomes moved the team downfield to a touchdown with seconds left. The Chiefs won 25 - 22.
