Gathered for their second regular June meeting at the Hastings Municipal Airport Terminal, council members voted 7-0 to approve the zoning code changes as laid out in proposed Ordinance No. 4802.

HEBRON - Thanks to the vision and volunteerism of Hebron residents, a public problem has been turned into a brand-new community asset in the heart of downtown. This early summer, local volunteers are finishing up work on Backyard Bricks, a large, patio-like gathering space on the west side of the city offices on Lincoln Avenue. The space is named as an homage to the street that runs past the front of the space, which was paved in brick 100 years ago in 1925.

MINDEN - When the resurrected Minden Opera House threw open its doors to fanfare on Memorial Day Weekend 2000, visions of Big Band events, top-name concerts, elaborate wedding receptions, packed community theater shows and silver-screen movie nights danced in the heads of project leaders and patrons alike.
