The bad news is that a blocking pattern in the atmosphere is going to keep a chance of showers and a few storms around the region through the weekend. The good news is that it won’t be raining all the time and we aren’t worried about severe weather.

ST. LOUIS – It’s a bad news, good news kind of morning. The bad news is that a blocking pattern in the atmosphere is going to keep a chance of showers and a few storms around the region through the weekend. The good news is that it won’t be raining all the time and we aren’t worried about severe weather. After a dry start Friday, scattered showers and storms will be possible late in the morning and then again late in the afternoon. The expected high temperature will be close to 70 F.

The threat of severe storms is low, but not zero. The best chance for an isolated severe storm will be Wednesday evening. The first wave of wet weather arrives Wednesday morning courtesy of a weakening thunderstorm complex moving out of the Plains.
