INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Indiana Pacers defied the odds — and “experts” — making it to the NBA Finals for the second time in franchise history. Not many outside the walls of Gainbridge Fieldhouse thought it would be possible. Yet, the Pacers pace, depth and defensive improvements rocketed them past the Milwaukee Bucks, Cleveland Cavaliers and New York Knicks for the Eastern Conference Finals title. The Pacers impressed the entire NBA with their WNBA sister team in attendance nearly every game.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Indiana Pacers are heading to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2000 after a decisive victory over the New York Knicks in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals, 125-108. The Pacers carried a one-point lead into halftime and returned to the court after the break with renewed determination. Indiana outscored New York 34-23 in the third quarter, pushing the lead out to as many as 19.

Knicks guard Jalen Brunson topped the entire first quarter box score with seven points, while Myles Turner led the way for the Pacers with six after the first frame. The Pacers lead the series 3-2, needing just one more win to make it to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2000.
