Avid and casual stargazers alike have probably heard of the "blood moon," a phenomena that turns the moon a reddish hue during a lunar eclipse. But what about the "pink moon," which is set to appear this weekend? The April full moon will be visible from about 7:22 p.m. Saturday through Sunday night, according to NASA and the Old Farmer's Almanac. It is sometimes called the "pink moon," but sadly stargazers would have to put on rose-colored glasses to see the moon change color this weekend.

Texas lawmakers are pushing to officially change the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America statewide to align with the Trump administration's federal name change. Legislation introduced in the Texas House would require state agencies to change all references to the Gulf of Mexico in their rules and policies to the Gulf of America by April 1, 2026.

The family of slain Texas teen Austin Metcalf will hold a memorial service this weekend to honor his life, which was cut short after a stabbing at a high school track meet. The memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Sunday at Hope Fellowship Frisco East, where he attended church and participated in a youth group, according to his obituary. Metcalf, 17, died April 2 after what police called an "altercation" at David Kuykendall Stadium in Frisco.

Randy Feltface, a purple puppet comedian voiced by Heath McIvor, has visited Texas many times over the years on tour but somehow managed to avoid H-E-B during every stop, he told the Express-News.
