A $209.5 million residential and commercial development in Southfield will receive a $131.8 million incentive from the state’s Transformational Brownfield Plan. The development by Middlepointe Investment Group is planned for vacant land in the area of Evergreen Road and Civic Center Drive, according to a release from the city.

The Troy Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, April 22, on a plan to redevelop the former Kmart Corp. headquarters into a residential, retail and office facility. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 500 W. Big Beaver Road. Forbes Frankel Troy Ventures proposes to build 750 residential units, 500,000 square feet of office space, 300,000 square feet of retail space and a 250-room hotel, according to Planning Commission documents.

Farmington Hills is studying whether it needs a new recreation center focused on adults age 50 and up. Through April 28, the city is surveying people in that age group about their recreation and wellness needs. To take the survey, visit https://engage.sportsfacilities.com/Farmington-hills-50-and-better-community-engagement. A paper survey is available at the Costick Activities Center, 28600 W. 11 Mile. You do not need to be a Farmington Hills resident to take the survey.

New ramp and lane closures are coming as I-696 is rebuilt in southeastern Oakland County. The northbound I-75 ramp to 12 Mile Road will have one lane open from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday, April 18, for pavement repair, according to the Michigan Department of Transportation. The southbound I-75 ramp to eastbound I-696 will be closed from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, April 19, for bridge work.
