With his trial set to begin in just a few weeks, a Troy man has opted out by pleading to child pornography charges. At an April 22 pretrial hearing in Oakland County Circuit Court, Kyle Robert Breitinger, 38, pleaded guilty as charged to six counts of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material.The crime is punishable by up to 10 years in prison and/or a fine up to $50,000. His trial was scheduled to start May 15.

A preliminary exam is scheduled for a Pontiac man accused of setting another Pontiac man on fire, severely injuring him. It’s on the May 23 docket for 50th District Judge Cynthia Thomas Walker for the case against Joseph Lee Green, 30, charged with assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder for the Feb. 5 attack. Green is accused of using a lighter and paper to burn the 49-year-old victim on his arm, neck and elsewhere on his body, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.

Arraignment in 47th District Court is pending for Livonia resident Paul Richard Katterman II, 57. charged with human trafficking enterprise resulting in commercial sexual activity, human trafficking enterprise, keeping a house of prostitution, conducting a criminal enterprise, and failure to file taxes/filing a false tax return.

A $209.5 million residential and commercial development in Southfield will receive a $131.8 million incentive from the state’s Transformational Brownfield Plan. The development by Middlepointe Investment Group is planned for vacant land in the area of Evergreen Road and Civic Center Drive, according to a release from the city.
