PC Ryan McNamara, part of Essex Police's Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT), caught the 17-year-old offender in the act while on patrol in Saffron Walden last week. Following reports of antisocial behaviour in Elm Grove, PC McNamara headed to the scene and found the teenage boy spraying graffiti. A short foot chase followed, where the teen had "little chance of escaping".

On Tuesday, June 24, the time capsule will be placed beneath the auditorium seating in the arts theatre's newly redesigned balcony, in the hope it will remain undiscovered for decades to come. The capsule is designed to commemorate the refurbishment, preserve the history of the theatre and communicate with future theatregoers. Cambridge Arts Theatre is calling out to people in the community to ask what should be included in the time capsule.

Dylan Simons, 23, who lives in Leaden Roding, and his friend Toby Bojakowski, 24, will climb Kilimanjaro in August, before volunteering for a week at St Irene Day Care Centre in Kakamega, Kenya.
