BY: Anthony CarloBari Pork Store, a staple of Brooklyn's Bensonhurst neighborhood since 1969, has been a beloved destination for food and goods straight from Italy. But now, the specialty store is closing for good, after its aging storefront weathered so many storms. "Twenty-eight years I've been coming here. This is like a family," said customer Peter Melendez. It is a piece of Italy that stole a piece of everyone's heart.

FIRE ISLAND, New York (WABC) -- When disaster strikes New York City -- much like Superstorm Sandy over a decade ago -- an elite team of first responders are the ones who get the call. On Thursday, they gave Eyewitness News a first-hand look at the training exercises that help prepare them for the type of disaster situations they might be faced with. The exercise was just a drill. There were no real victims, but it's all based on what first responders actually see in the aftermath of a hurricane.
