A 20-year-old man was arrested Friday after police said he groped a 12-year-old girl on a street in Hudson County. Victor ConsiguaSaloj, 20, of West New York, is charged with second-degree sexual assault and third-degree endangering the welfare of a child, according to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez. Police were called shortly after 6 p.m. to the area of Bergenline Avenue and 58th Street in West New York, where the girl had been groped by a stranger.

The owner of an electronics store in the City of Orange has been charged with selling more than 100 counterfeit Apple products, Essex County authorities said Monday. The 63-year-old Woodland Park man was arrested June 5 and charged with third-degree counterfeiting, according to Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens II. Stephens said the business owner sold fake AirPods, iPhones and accessories out of his store on Main Street.

A Florida man has been charged with attempted murder following a road rage shooting on Friday that critically injured a truck driver on the New Jersey Turnpike, authorities said. The incident occurred around 10:15 a.m. along the outer roadway of the southbound Turnpike near milepost 86 in Edison Township, Middlesex County, according to New Jersey State Police. Troopers said the driver of a box truck was shot in the abdomen by the driver of a tractor-trailer also traveling south on the highway.

A New Jersey man has filed a lawsuit against the City of Passaic and its police department, claiming officers placed him in an illegal chokehold and arrested him for allegedly spitting on a sidewalk. Jesse Velez, 32, of Passaic, says in court papers six city police officers “started following and harassing him” as he walked down Third Street on May 30, 2024. The officers allegedly targeted Velez due to his Peruvian heritage, alleges the suit, filed June 9 in Passaic County Superior Court.
