WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. (WDBJ) - When Bryson DeChambeau sank his birdie putt on 18 to break the course record with a Sunday 58 last year, The Greenbrier and LIV Golf became forever linked. “It was an iconic moment for LIV Golf and it put LIV Golf sort of another notch on the map again,” said tournament director Brian Flajole. The reigning U.S. Open champ and rest of the LIV Tour are bringing their music-blaring, shorts-wearing version of pro golf back to The Old White in August.

BLACKSBURG, Va. (WDBJ) - Choosing to leave Baylor for Virginia Tech was more than a leap of faith for Kyron Drones. Then a redshirt sophomore, Drones had attempted just 23 college passes and, at best, would be fighting to overtake a three-year Division I starter in Grant Wells. But the Texas native saw a clear vision for a team that had just won only three games. “I wasn’t really second-guessing because I did the same thing when I chose Baylor,” said Drones on his decision to be a Hokie.

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - In his message to guests at Ballyhack Golf Club on Friday night, Kelly Woolwine put it simply: the battle against pediatric cancer never truly ends. Kelly and his wife, Jess, started the Life Ring Foundation after their daughter, Charlotte, was diagnosed with liver cancer at three-and-a-half years old. Their goal now is to raise $10 million over the next five years to fund a pediatric cancer center alongside Carilion Clinic.
