    AURORA, Colo. — A woman died from her injuries after she was shot in an Aurora parking lot following an argument with the suspected shooter, police said. Around 5:15 p.m. Friday, officers responded to a shots fired call in the area of 630 N. Peoria St, according to a release from the Aurora Police Department. When police arrived, they found a woman with a life-threatening gunshot wound in the parking lot, the release said.

    AURORA, Colo. — A man turned himself in after leaving the scene of a crash that killed a pedestrian and his dog Thursday night in Aurora, police said. About 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aurora Police officers responded to a report of a fatal crash involving a vehicle, a pedestrian and a dog at the intersection of East Wesley Drive and East Caspian Circle, according to a news release from the department.

    ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Tenants of an Englewood apartment building were displaced Thursday morning after a flood triggered by a theft left the building uninhabitable, police said. About 8:30 a.m. Thursday, a severe flood took place in the east building of the Parkview Towers complex, at 3655 S. Pearl St., according to a release from Englewood Police. A police department spokesperson said someone stole part of the building's fire suppression system, causing the flood.

    DENVER — A law that went into effect at the beginning of the year has led to a significant increase in distracted driving citations, according to a release from the Colorado Department of Transportation. The Mobile Electronic Devices & Motor Vehicle Driving law took effect on Jan. 1, allowing police to cite people if they are using their phones or other mobile devices while driving, unless it is through a hands-free accessory.
