BROOKINGS, S.D. (KELO) — Dell Rapids won the class ‘B’ state championship last year, with a win over Howard. The road to back-to-back titles had some challenges. The defending champs saw their battle against Dakota Valley go into extra innings tied at four. In the eighth inning, with the bases loaded, Cooper Frost laid down a bunt allowing Tad Tjaden to score with the championship walk-off run.

OMAHA, Neb. (SDSU) — Top-seeded Oral Roberts scored seven times in the bottom of the second inning and never looked back in an 11-2 victory over South Dakota State in the opening round of the Summit League Baseball Championship Wednesday afternoon at Tal Anderson Field. The Golden Eagles improved to 35-20 overall and will face the winner between Wednesday’s late game between North Dakota State and Omaha at 6 p.m. Thursday.

DELL RAPIDS, S.D. (KELO) — In region 3B, Lennox fell to West Central 13-9 in a battle to meet top-ranked Dell Rapids in the state qualifying game Wednesday night. The Trojans had a strong seven-run inning in the second to gave the the 9-1 lead. Lennox would come up on a eight-run fifth inning to tie the game.
