Jail records show Ray Holmberg, a Republican from Grand Forks, was taken from the Sherburne County Jail in Elk River, Minnesota, to the Federal Medical Center in Rochester on Wednesday, June 4. Rochester is one of six cities in the U.S. that has a federal medical prison.

    FORT TOTTEN, N.D. — The Spirit Lake Nation will be without drinkable tap water longer than expected, according to a spokeswoman. The temporary filtration system needed to fix an elevated level of manganese in the tribe’s water was expected to arrive Thursday, June 5, or Friday, Spirit Lake spokeswoman Vicki Alberts told The Forum. Before residents can drink the water, the tribe must flush at least four million gallons of water through the system, she said.

    BISMARCK — A nonprofit that calls itself “unapologetically conservative” is forming in North Dakota. The Freedom League of North Dakota announced Wednesday, June 4, in Bismarck that it is accepting members. A small crowd gathered Wednesday at the Capitol during a news conference announcing the group's launch. The group will hold its inaugural state convention in August, when it will adopt policy platforms and elect leadership, according to a news release.
