CAMPTON, Ky. (WYMT) - The Wolfe County Wolves defeated Knott County Central, 2-1, to reach the program’s first-ever 14th region final appearance in school history. The Wolves scored a run in the first inning, followed by Knott’s run in the second to tie the game. The contest required extra innings. In the bottom of the ninth inning, Landon McWhorter singled on a grounder up the middle.

BAXTER, Ky. (WYMT) - Trent Noah and Ella Karst headlined the 2025 Frank Brittain Academic & Athletic Hall of Fame class on Tuesday, May 27. This year’s class also honored a team for the first time ever. The 2023-24 Harlan Co. boys basketball team and the 2023-24 Harlan Co. girls cross country team both finished as the state runner-up in their respective competitions for the first time in the county’s schools history.
