ELKINS, W.Va (WDTV/Gray News) - An 80-year-old man who went missing in West Virginia was recently found in a deep predicament. The West Virginia State Police originally put out a Silver Alert for Harold Simmons before he was found Wednesday night. The Elkins Police Department said Simmons was found submerged in a large creek at the bottom of a 20-foot embankment. Simmons was trapped with water up to his neck, according to police.

ELKINS, W.Va (WDTV) - The West Virginia State Police has put out a Silver Alert for a missing Elkins man. Harold Wayne Simmons, age 80, was last seen on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at 703 Gorman Avenue in Elkins. He is believed to have left the area on foot. Police describe him as 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 155 pounds, with blue eyes and gray hair. He was wearing blue jeans and a striped shirt when he was last seen.
