BUCKHANNON, W.Va (WDTV) - Police are asking for public assistance to locate a missing Buckhannon man this evening. George Zenon Norkus, age 82, was last seen near the 2100 block of Canaan Road in Rock Cave, West Virginia. He was wearing blue jeans, white shoes, and glasses at the time. He may be traveling in a red 2015 Ford Escape, with a West Virginia license plate (9XP337). Norkus is 5 feet, 11 inches tall, weighing 157 pounds with gray hair and brown eyes.

LOST CREEK, W.Va (WDTV) - I-79 southbound is currently closed, after a single-vehicle accident near mile marker 112. 911 officials say that no patients have been transported to the hospital at this time. The Lost Creek and Jane Lew Fire Departments are on scene, along with Anmoore EMS and the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office. No word at this time on what caused the accident, though officials say that the vehicle has “heavy damage”.

ELKINS, W.Va (WDTV) - Patrolman Christian Mayle has officially been fired by the City of Elkins, after being arrested on March 30th for domestic battery. In a press release, the city confirmed that he was terminated for violation of the Elkins PD’s Standards of Conduct policy. Mayle joined the Elkins police force in late 2024. He was arrested in Barbour County on Sunday. The city says that he was immediately placed on administrative leave, and was required to surrender his service weapon and badge.

CLARKSBURG, W.Va (WDTV) - A man from Preston County has been indicted on charges of coercion and enticement of a minor for sex and child pornography. Stephen David Seeger, age 45 of Bruceton Mills, was allegedly communicating with a 13-year-old girl online. He allegedly persuaded her to create sexually explicit images and videos, and attempted to do the same with another victim, a 15-year-old female. Seeger was arrested in California, and will be returned to West Virginia to face these charges.

ELKINS, W.Va (WDTV) - This weekend, Davis & Elkins College has announced that, for the fourth year, they will be continuing the Citizens Bank of West Virginia Emerging Leaders Scholarship program. WDTV is proud to partner with Davis & Elkins & Citizens Bank to help sponsor this award. D&E officials announced the news during stops at Mountaineer Girls & Boys State this weekend. The scholarship is available to any West Virginia high school class of 2025 member with a 3.0 GPA.
