The Texas House Committee on Natural Resources heard support for House Bill 3154 — proposed legislation that would create a Wise Regional Water District — Wednesday at the state Capitol. Several elected Wise County leaders testified for the bill, which was filed in February by District 64 Rep. Andy Hopper, alongside District 12 Sen. Tan Parker’s identical SB 1359 in the state’s 89th Legislative Session. The bill also encountered its first formal criticism during the hearing.
