MARSHFIELD, Wis. (WAOW) - The 2025 Dairyfest has opened up shop for their 45th year kicking it off with the annual Mayor's breakfast. Hundreds coming out to the Marshfield Fairgrounds Friday morning to catch a pancake and eggs breakfast hosted by the Marshfield Chamber of Commerce. Staff says they were astounded by the turnout with people waiting before the 5:30 a.m. start for their special eggs and pancakes which has been a favorite for decades"It's the eggs. "This was an opportunity unlike any other," said Megan DeLeske, Owner of Children's House of Montessori. That $100,000 opportunity came from the Wood County Capacity Building grant through the American Rescue Plan Act.

WAUSAU, Wis. (WAOW) - Dementia is on the rise in the United States and accounts for more than 100,000 American deaths each year. A new study shows a prominent link between hearing loss and dementia. "There is such a coalition and relationship between dementia and hearing loss," said Karen Beyer, a hearing instrument specialist with The Hearing House in Wausau. The JAMA study found 32% of dementia is associated with hearing loss. Beyer compares the loss of hearing to a broken arm.
