RHINELANDER, Wisc. (WJFW)- We have seen a lot of action in high school sports for the 2023-2024 season in Wisconsin. There have been records broken, state championships won, upsets and so much more. Athletes from all over the area have competed in tough games and seasons, hoping to bring their school to glory and win them a state championship. Other athletes have show resilience, taking over games and emerging as genuine superstars.

MINOCQUA, Wis. (WJFW)- No, you're not feeling déjà vu, Lakeland Union and Rhinelander are playing each other again for a WIAA Regional Finals in girl's soccer. Last season, the T-Birds swept the Hodags in the regular season to win the Great Northern Conference title, but Rhinelander got the last laugh after beating them in the playoffs in Minocqua to face Ashland. This year, same story.

ANTIGO, Wis. (WJFW)- For the third time this season, Lakeland Union and Antigo softball faced off on Wednesday. The T-Birds swept the Red Robins in both regular season games, but both teams actually finished tied for 2nd place in the Great Northern Conference standings to end the season. Also, this is the playoffs, where anything can happen. Antigo came into this matchup with a 13-6 overall record, coming off of a 4-0 loss to Lakeland Union in their regular season finale.

MINOCQUA, Wis. (WJFW)- A rivalry that has always come through with exciting games the past few season: Rhinelander-Lakeland Union girl's soccer. Last season, all three games ended 1-0, with the T-Birds sweeping the regular season en route to a Great Northern Conference title, but Rhinelander getting the last laugh in the playoffs to send their rival home packing. This season, Lakeland Union won the first game 1-0 in Rhinelander, and already clinched the conference title.

MINOCQUA, Wis. (WJFW)- It was the regular season finale for Lakeland Union and Chequamegon baseball, with the T-Birds hosting the Screaming Eagles in a Great Northern-Marawood Conference showdown. Lakeland Union came into this matchup fresh off of a sweep of Northland Pines in their final conference series of the season. Overall, the T-Birds were 8-10 this season. In conference play, they were 6-6, putting them in 4th place in the Great Northern Conference standings.
