Coronary Artery Disease is the leading cause of death worldwide. “Coronary artery disease is the development of plaque in the coronary artery,” said Doctor Michael Zevitz who is a Cardiologist at Aspirus Cardiology-Rhinelander. Coronary artery disease is the buildup of plaques in arteries inside the heart that can begin at a young age.

    RHINELANDER, Wis. (WJFW) -- Millions of Americans have high blood pressure and around 20% don’t even know they have it. “Hypertension is regarded as the silent killer. There are no symptoms until there is a major event or catastrophe,” said Dr. Michael Zevitz, who is a Cardiologist at Aspirus Cardiology-Rhinelander. He says people can have high blood pressure for years and not develop any symptoms. “You don’t know you have high blood pressure until you check it,” Dr. Zevitz said.

One of those is adenoids and tonsils. “Adenoids and tonsils are part of the lymphoreticular system, which is the part of the body that helps your immune system fight infection,” said Doctor Greg White who is an Ear Nose and Throat Doctor at Aspirus Rhinelander. Adenoids and tonsils work together to identify, trap and fight bacteria and viruses.
