BRIGHAM CITY, Utah — Visitors to Utah's national parks, monuments and recreation areas might be drawn to the incredible views, but a small sheet of paper posted at locations across the state has received a large amount of recent attention. Following an executive order from President Donald Trump, the paper encourages visitors to report anything they see that they believe to be negative about America by scanning a QR code and leaving a comment.

SALT LAKE CITY — Juneteenth brought Salt Lake City residents together on Thursday to commemorate the end of slavery in the United States. "The day of Jubilee, it goes by freedom day as well," said Darlene McDonald, who participated in the celebrations. The holiday marks when those who were still enslaved in Galveston, Texas, finally learned of their freedom on June 19, 1865 — more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

SALT LAKE CITY — As the outdoor temperatures rise, Utah officials are sounding the alarm on preventable wildfires caused by target shooting. Starting Wednesday, the Utah Department of Natural Resources is asking people who shoot outdoors to use paper targets on wood stakes or cardboard. DNR officials explained that since January, there have been 21 fires across the state from firearms.

SALT LAKE CITY — Utah Highway Patrol officials are urging drivers to properly secure their loads as summer travel increases on Utah roads, following multiple incidents of vehicle damage and potential safety hazards. Joe Bonham, owner of Alpine Foreign Repairs, knows firsthand the damage unsecured loads can cause during his daily commute. "The problem is I come from Draper everyday on the freeway early in the morning," Bonham said.
