Jusiah Mason had just turned 18 and graduated high school when he was shot and killed in a mass shooting June 14 in downtown Columbus in which seven others were injured. Jusiah, often called "Juice" by friends and family, was a friendly, outgoing young man, said his mom, Shanai Neal, and his stepfather, Ray Neal Jr. He celebrated his birthday on May 31, the day after graduating from Columbus City School's Beechcroft High School.

A police investigation has closed westbound traffic for several miles on Interstate 270 on Columbus' West Side. The interstate was closed from the Georgesville Road interchange to West Broad Street at about 1 p.m. June 16. Traffic approaching Georgesville road was backed up about 10 minutes as of 1:45 p.m., according to a live traffic map maintained by the Ohio Department of Transportation.

Three of the four men who in May escaped a minimum-security correctional facility on Columbus' Southeast Side have been arrested, according to court and jail records. Four men escaped the Franklin County Community Based Correctional Facility at 1745 Alum Creek Dr. on May 22. The men had been convicted of parole and probation violations, and one had been convicted of theft. All four now face felony escape charges. The three men who have been captured remain incarcerated in the Franklin County Jail.

An 18-year-old man died after a weekend shooting in downtown Columbus that injured six more people, police said. Jusiah Mason, 18, died the day after a shooting near the intersection of South Ludlow Street and West Town Street near the Scioto River, Columbus police said in a news release. Police responded to the shooting at about 3:15 a.m. June 14. They located five adults and one juvenile who were shot. All but Mason were transported to local hospitals in stable condition.

Thousands packed downtown Columbus and the Short North with the colors of the rainbow June 14 for the 2025 Stonewall Columbus Pride Festival and March. Marchers and demonstrators alike decked themselves out in rainbow colors and waved Pride flags and banners during the parade, which lasted over two hours and seemed to go on for miles, from its starting point by the Ohio Statehouse to Goodale Park.
