Now the former Captain's Table, which more recently housed Catfish Charlie's, is up for sale. With a 2,000 square foot deck overlooking the Mississippi River, the restaurant and adjacent marina have been a staple of dinner celebrations in the Quad Cities for more than five decades.

The tears were flowing. Iowa native Frank Fritz and lifelong friend and reality-show co-star Mike Wolfe have reunited after nearly three years without seeing one another. Another longtime friend of Fritz’s helped arrange for the Memorial Day weekend reunion between the pair who found fame as “American Pickers” on the History Channel. She has asked that her name not be published to protect her privacy. “This was not a feud between Mike and Frank at all,” Fritz’s friend said Tuesday.

For the first time in 50 years, Niabi Zoo will begin a new season on Monday without an elephant in the house. Kathy Sh-Boom was Niabi's main attraction for 38 years before passing away in 2002 at the age of 42. The Quad-City area's appreciation of pachyderms continued with the adoption of Asian elephants Babe and Sophie. But due to their declining health and an inadequate enclosure, the pair was relocated in October to a zoo in Arkansas.
