DNA recovered from inside the car parked in Vancouver where a Portland mother was found dead Nov. 1 returned as a match to a 31-year-old man arrested Friday in Kentucky, court records say. Dariel Nunez Montero was in custody in Montgomery County, Ky., on unrelated charges. Authorities issued an arrest warrant for Nunez Montero on Friday in Clark County Superior Court for first-degree murder in the slaying of Courtney Valencia Clinton, according to a Vancouver police news release.

A Vancouver man is accused of shooting another man in the neck during a fight last month at a homeless encampment on the Burnt Bridge Creek Trail. Jeremiah S. Isezaki, 40, appeared Thursday in Clark County Superior Court on suspicion of first-degree assault and first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm. He appeared again Friday on additional allegations stemming from his arrest, including attempting to elude, possession of a dangerous weapon and possession of methamphetamine.

A judge last month dismissed the murder case against a 68-year-old Camas woman accused of fatally shooting her husband, after the judge found her mental state had deteriorated beyond treatment. Beverly Ann Tafolla was charged in Clark County Superior Court with second-degree domestic violence murder in the April 27, 2023, shooting death of 68-year-old Robert Tafolla at their Camas home.
