May 19-After starting the Super Regionals with two dramatic wins, the Clark College baseball team saw its season end with a pair of losses to Umpqua on Friday in Roseburg, Ore. The Penguins opened the Super Regionals on Thursday with an elimination game, beating Yakima Valley 4-3 in 10 innings. Morrie Solam drew a bases-loaded walk to tie the game in the ninth before Kaiden Hernandez hit a walk-off single in the 10th.

May 15-CENTRALIA - Though Seton Catholic fell short in the Class 1A softball district championship game, the Cougars accomplished their main mission Thursday. Seton secured its second consecutive berth to the state tournament with a dramatic 2-1 win over top-seeded Rochester in the semifinals at Fort Borst Park. So while Seton came up short 14-6 to defending champion Montesano in the title game, the Cougars are eager for a return trip to state next weekend in Richland.
