BAR HARBOR, Maine (WABI) - The MDI 4x400m girls relay team is on its way to the Nike Outdoor Nationals at the University of Oregon’s Hayward Field this weekend. It’s been a journey this spring for these four MDI Trojans. The season started in March. “It’s been a lot of practice, teamwork, and communication. Even though practice has ended for the rest of our teammates at MDI, we’ve been coming to practice every day, even during the summer.

HERMON, OLD TOWN, Maine (WABI) - The Class B North Softball Championship matchup is set between the No. 1 Hermon Hawks and No. 2 Old Town Coyotes. The Hawks finished at the top of the region at 14-2 and advanced past No. 8 Cony in mercy-rule 10-0 win before edging No. 5 MDI, 2-1. “We’re feeling pretty good. For my group especially, us seniors, this would be our third trip there. We have not won one yet, so we’re hoping that for our final year we’ll pull off the win.

HOWLAND, Maine (WABI) - The No. 2 Penobscot Valley Howlers are in the Class D North Softball Championship against the No. 5 Southern Aroostook Warriors. The Howlers are here after a 14-0 season and dispatching No. 10 Jonesport-Beals and previously-undefeated No. 3 Katahdin in the state tournament. “I think a lot of it is the hard work that we put in and the dedication to the sport. Obviously, we’re a good team, but a lot of it has to do with us coming together as one.
