BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - The North Atlantic Baseball Championship round is set after Friday’s action at Husson University. The tournament host No. 1 Eagles defeated the No. 3 Thomas Terriers, 4-0, to open the day in the winner’s bracket. Husson and Thomas played scoreless into the sixth inning before the Eagles’ Tanner Evans drove in Jackson Curtis with a single to make it 1-0. Cam Rendell chipped in with a two-out RBI single to score Colin Marshall for a 2-0 Husson lead in the seventh.

BANGOR, Maine, COBLESKILL & BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WABI) - Local college baseball and softball teams continued conference tournament runs in Maine and New York. Opening day action at the North Atlantic Conference Baseball Tournament in Bangor saw Husson and Thomas advance. No. 1 Husson defeated No. 4 SUNY Cobleskill, 8-2. No. 3 Thomas upset No. 2 Lesley, 11-5. The Terriers and Eagles will face off on Friday at 11 a.m. in the winner’s bracket. The NAC Softball Tournament started at SUNY Cobleskill.

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WABI) - The Maine softball team advanced to the second day of the America East Championship after going 1-1 to start the tournament. No. 6 Maine began with a 7-3 loss to No. 3 UAlbany. Gabby Papushka gave Maine a 1-0 with a double in the first inning. The Great Danes rallied to a 2-1 advantage in the second inning with Sara Anderson driving in a run while reaching on an error before Charlotte Lomb doubled in another run.

BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - Husson baseball is staying home for the North Atlantic Conference Tournament this weekend. The Eagles finished as the top team in the East at 13-4 this season. They will be going for their sixth conference championship in a row. “It would be four-for-four for me, which would be awesome.
