American tech entrepreneurs have opened up talks with officials about placing research-oriented freedom cities on the island of Greenland, according to a report in Reuters. Last week, news website Reuters reported that at least three anonymized sources had claimed investors in America's tech industry have been eyeing the island, owned by Denmark, as a site for new cities. According to the reports, the communities would be freedom cities, established with minimal regulations to promote business.

US president Donald Trump has signed an executive order rescinding the policy of water flow regulation in showerheads passed by previous administrations. Announced yesterday, the order was named Maintaining Acceptable Water Pressure in Showerheads. It took aim at "overregulation" and used showerheads as a "small but meaningful example", citing the Biden administration's definition of showerhead under the 2021 Energy Conservation Program for Consumer Products, which limited flow on showerheads.

New York City releases first new subway map in decades

New York's Metropolitan Transport Authority has released a redesigned map of its subway system, which maintains the colours of the prior one while "simplifying" it. The redesigned map was unveiled on 2 April and will act as a wayfinding tool for the 3.6 million daily users of the city's subway system. It features clean, geometric shapes that represent landmasses, transected by thick graphic lines rendered in the well-known colours that mark each line.
