Professor Mark Stoyle, a historian at the University of Southampton, believes a spelling error by a court official suggests that the accused woman was not hanged but instead lived for several years.

    Researchers are looking to recruit volunteers to test whether frequent hot tub use could improve health in older adults. The team from the University of Portsmouth's School of Psychology, Sport and Health Sciences, is asking for people aged 55 and older to participate in the study which would involve sitting in a 40C hot tub for 60 minutes, three times a week, for a six-week period.

    Scientists are working on a new rocket thruster which could open up "never-ending" deep space exploration by using any type of metal as fuel. The team at the University of Southampton say that metals found on comets and moons could be mined to enable the thruster to propel spacecraft to "regions of the universe previously thought unreachable".

    Unseen footage from the Jeremy Kyle Show shows the moment a guest who died days after appearing on the programme that lie detector tests "say you're a liar". The distressing footage was played at the inquest of Steve Dymond at Winchester coroners' court on Thursday, September 5. Mr Dymond, from Portsmouth, is thought to have taken his own life a week after appearing on the show in May 2019 in an attempt to prove he hadn’t cheated on his partner Jane Callaghan.
