It is produced by Cambridge Newspapers Ltd, which has its main operations based in Milton. This facility, initially established as a printing plant in 1991, became the central hub for the Evening News in 1998. Between December 2010 and June 2011, the newspaper had an average daily circulation of 20,987.

    A bungalow in Cambridge could be knocked down to make way for a 10 person house share. Plans have been submitted to Cambridge City Council to demolish 190 High Street, in Cherry Hinton to make way for a 10-bedroom House of Multiple Occupation (HMO). A replacement two-bedroom bungalow is also proposed to be built at the site. The developer, Nemer Properties Ltd, said its plans to build a new two-and-a-half storey HMO in Cherry Hinton would “contribute towards an identified housing need”.

    New plans to build a solar farm have been put forward after a previous project was blocked following over 100 objections. Wessex Solar Energy (WSE) has said its plans for a smaller solar farm in the north of the county addressed the concerns that had been raised about the previous proposals. Last year, councillors at Huntingdonshire District Council rejected plans to build a new solar farm including 65,000 solar panels in the countryside.

    A new “warm and welcoming” cancer support centre is set to be built in Cambridge. Plans have been approved to build the new facility in Long Road, on the edge of the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. The new centre will be run by the charity Maggie’s, which offers free support services to people who have been diagnosed with cancer. The charity has been running a temporary facility in Cambridge since 2012, based in converted flats in Puddicombe Way.

    The Royal Family has paid tribute to Pope Francis, who has died at the age of 88 after a life "dedicated to the service of the Church". King Charles expressed his condolences, saying: "My wife and I were most deeply saddened to learn of the death of Pope Francis.
