SYRACUSE, NE - In a battle between Plattsmouth Post 56 and Syracuse Post 100, it was Plattsmouth that held on for an 8-6 victory in a back and forth game on Friday night. Syracuse got on the board right away in the bottom of the first as they benefited from a hit by pitch, walk and an error to push a run across. Both pitchers put up scoreless second innings of work as Post 100’s Elliot Harden and Post 56’s Chance Jackson settled in. In the top of the third, Plattsmouth got on the board.

WAYNE, NE - The Auburn Bulldogs dropped a heartbreaker to the Wayne Blue Devils in the District C-5 Championship Friday, 2-1. With the win, Wayne moves on to play in the State Tournament that starts Saturday, May 17, in Papillion. The scoring didn't get under way until the fourth frame. With two out, Auburn's Jackson Warner ripped a triple to put the Bulldogs in business. Christian Gage followed with an RBI single to make it 1-0.

Scott Michael Dawson, 63, passed away on May 2, 2025, at Longmont United Hospital in Longmont, Colorado. He was born in Nebraska City, Nebraska, on September 4, 1961, to Bill and Mary Jo Dawson, the fourth of their five children. Scott graduated from Nebraska City High school in 1979. He attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, and in his twenties moved to Colorado where he worked at Valleylab, a medical products manufacturing plant in Boulder, for over thirty years.
