Founded in 2002, the store has nearly 40 locations nationwide, including in Columbia, Towson, Bethesda and Arlington. The new location is the largest in the region. Shaina Van Selus,  AKIRA district manager for the Baltimore and Washington, D.C. area, joined the company about 12 years ago.
